Welcome. The dogs are
always very happy when humans drop by. Particularly when they bring food.
This here is
kind of a crash pad for any wayward dogs lookin' for a place to hang their
minds, think about the ways they used to think, and then strike out anew
when they realize that they used to think like an idiot. Streetdogs is mostly
about music and this website exists to provide the original musicians, artists,
technicians, empathizers,
and general hangers on, along with other worthy souls (don't worry dudes,
if you are one of the ancient ones, you don't have to be worthy), a stable
pipeline to what seems to be the new human media. It also serves to round
up, or at least get a fix on, some of the stray dogs that haven't been spotted
for a while. Sooner or later the search engines will drop them at our front
door and we'll have 'em.

What
does all of this mean for you, who simply stumbled upon us as you wander
the web? Probably not much for a few years. This site consists of individual
sub-sites set aside for each of the dogs to do with or not as they will.
At this point it's an empty warehouse (and, no guys, not an allegory for
421 Stanford, I hope, and, we are NOT putting the band back together) that
in fact no-one has yet occupied with the exception of a small, phantom porn
site (the web's true economic engine) which pulls in the hits and pays rent
faithfully. But that's the beauty of the web, a vast repository of momentary
whim, preserved for eternity, so that every time someone does leave something
here, a thought, a song, or whatever else they might imagine that will go
thru an electronic portal. It's there, for good. Another brick in a magnificently
useless and impractical edifice that has no purpose until its here, and
then seems to belong. Sort of like you and me.

"Beware the leader who bangs the drums of war in order to whip the
citizenry into a patriotic fervor, for patriotism is indeed a
double-edged sword. It both emboldens the blood, just as it narrows the
mind. And when the drums of war have reached a fever pitch and the blood
boils with hate and the mind has closed, the leader will have no need in
seizing the rights of the citizenry. Rather, the citizenry, infused with
fear and blinded with patriotism, will offer up all of their rights unto
the leader, and gladly so. How do I know? For this is what I have done.
And I am Caesar."

- This particularly slimy and
popular political "talk show" represented the epitome of republican
spin. As a result of this ONE interview, the ratings plummeted and they
were off the air within weeks. One man with the courage to
confront this classic media fluff apparatus manages to do more heavy
lifting than the entire democratic party had accomplished in 5 years.
